Roof Insulation

All Sisalation products in the Facing Foil End Use Category are specifically recommended for use as facing foils in applications such as industrial lagging and glasswool blanket facing following rigorous testing of their individual performance characteristics and superior quality features in these applications.

When used in conjunction with an airspace, it is an effective thermal insulation material because of the high reflectivity and low emissivity of its aluminium foil surfaces. It provides an effective barrier against moisture, vapours, wind, heat and dust penetration when overlapped. Particularly when sealed with Sisalation  Vapastop 883 self adhesive aluminium tape.

Alucushion is manufactured by a continuous lamination process of low density polyethylene and aluminium foil with sealed bubbles of air between the two outer laminates. The thousands of individually celled air bubbles created during the manufacturing process, form a column of immobilised dry air, effectively countering heat loss through convection and conduction. Add to this the low emissivity and high reflectivity of the aluminium foil surface, and it’s advantages as a heat transfer barrier become obvious.

Alucushion is the cost effective solution for most roof insulation applications.

Starlite Insulation consists of rolls of insulation manufactured from stable glass fibres bounded with an inert acrylic thermosetting resin to form a light-weight, strong resilient and highly thermally efficient product.
The Starlite is supplied as a plain white blanket for celing applications or faced with a variety of scrim re-inforced facings being, aluminium, or white lacquered aluminium foil facing for industrial or steel roof applications.
Starlite  is used for thermal and acoustic applications in walls, roofs and cellings of all types of buildings and has a working temperature of up to 230°C. Starlite insulation conforms to all the relevant standards as part within the National Building Regulations and is completely non-combustible.

IsoBoard extruded polystyrene rigid foam thermal insulation, has closed cells with common sides and is produced on a continuous, fully automated extrusion process, in accordance with international and South African specifications and standards.

Lambdaboard is a flexible faced Polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation board made on a continuous laminator.
Installations include; over purlin, ceilings, side cladding and cavity walls. The core material (PIR) a thermosetting closed cell foam plastic, offering the highest levels of insulation properties.
